The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

You have just finished reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. For most readers, the ending of the story is the most profound part. Do you agree? How did the ending make you feel? Was it believable? Was it effective telling the story from the point of view of a naive nine-year old? Remember to support your opinions with facts from the story.

I thiught the ending was great. It made me feelsade because bruno didn't know anything about the camp he goes in and dies. I think that it was kind of believeable. I don't think it was very effective to tell the story from the nine year olds point of view because of the words spelling and his not knowing of really anyting going on.

I thought the ending was a letdown. The story could have had a much better ending, such as Bruno not dying. The ending made me feel sad because Bruno did not know he was going to die. I do not think the ending was believable because the Commandant would not let his son wander around without him knowing. I think it was effective because telling the story from a nine year old's perspective tells the story differently.

I thought the ending was sad and could have turned out better without Bruno and his friend dying. All Bruno wanted was to play with his friend and when he does he and Shmuel die. Also it is sad because Bruno’s family has no proof of Bruno’s disappearance and they mourn on it. I think the end was believable because maybe the family was too busy packing and did not notice Bruno’s disappearance. I don't think it was very effective to tell the story from the nine year olds point of view because He does not understand what is going on with the Jews and he cant pronounce some of the words correctly.

I think the ending was kind of rushed. It goes from Bruno going into the concentration camp to him marching then he just dies. Other than that I think it was a great book.

I do think the ending of the book was the most profound part. I thought that the ending was very sad because two children along with a bunch of other innocent people were killed. I think since Bruno was so naive that this could have actually happened. I think so that the reader could understand that Bruno was so naive the story had to be from a nine year old's perspective. Overall, I thought the author gave an appropriate ending to the story.

I thought the ending was alot bigger of a twist than anyone had expected. I felt bad for Bruno meeting his demise without a fighting chance or atleast some knowledge of his situation. I think the ending was believable because of the little information given to children at this time and the rapid killing of Jews to keep the guard to prisoner ration the waythe Nazi's like it. I think it wasn't effective telling the story from Bruno's perspective because of his lack of knowledge and habit of mispronouncing words that without previously knowing the backround would leave you scratching your head. Plus this story made you infer way to much to appreciate the story.

The ending was a good ending, and was believable. I feel sympathetic for Bruno who thought that they were in the building just to keep out of the rain. I found it a little bit surprising that Bruno’s father was killed, and the mother’s reaction was a little bit crazy. I think that Gretel felt bad because she never was very close to her brother, and then he died. I feel the author’s style of writing it from a nine year olds perspective was a very good one. I feel the author wrote a good book. Bruno lost his grandmother which made it even more sympathetic. And Shmuel who lost his papa I felt so bad for him. I think the author does a really good job at showing the emotions of the characters throughout the entire book. Even when he infers it. I think that the book is a really good one too.
